TalentLab is designed to enhance each person's development enabling them to maximise their sportingpotential

TalentLab

We believe everyone should be given a chance to take part in competitive sport regardless of their background. For some, our Talent Lab is the start of a journey that culminates in regional, national or global sporting success.

Whether it’s at school or further education, or through their own hobbies or interests, many young people develop a passion and flare for a particular discipline.

We want to create a positive experience for athletes by giving them the confidence to take part at a high level and go on to become our next generation of volunteers, coaches and organisers of sport.

At the appropriate juncture we pass the baton onto one of the specialists national sports agencies, which have particular skill sets in developing athletes in individual sports, to reach the top of the medal table in major events, such as the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics.

The Talent Lab also works with athletes, who have been talent identified from within their sport by the UKSDA, but who have made a late entry into a particular sport.

The aim is to help athletes identified from within a sport, make successful and quick transitions from age group programs onto the senior national team.

Athletes targeted in this stream are fast developers who are considered to be on similar development trajectories to previous elite performers.

For some, entry into our Talent Lab will be the start of a journey that culminates in global sporting success.
