"The key is not the will to win but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference."

UKSDA see the development of sports coaching as central to the success of UK athletics and sports, at both amateur and professional level. UKSDA is committed to supporting the ongoing development of coaches in every event and at every level from the grass roots right up to elite senior performance. In this section you will learn more about our vision for coaching and the various development opportunities across the UK at local and regional levels.

We recently began a series of 'Retreat Coaching Networks' to bring together coaches to learn and develop. UKSDA now has an ongoing programme of Retreat Coaching Networks which runs for ten months of the year from February to November and is based at an exclusive training venue near Goodwood, West Sussex. We invite coaches to attend those network courses that are most relevant to their sport.

We regularly invite coaches to attend the network courses that are relevant to their sport.

During 2022 we will provide a range of 'off the shelf' regional workshops to help provide coaches with a fundamental understanding of key topics. Most workshops contain a combination of theory and practical elements. Several workshops are now available in the members section.
